Product Description
The CT gantry construction is made up of a very solid and sturdy aluminum casting for both stator and rotor. Moreover, the gantry rotate bearing and rotate drive components are integrated in a way to ensure the scanner’s rigidness and stability. During rotation, the stator and rotor has minimum vibration, deformation and jitter in all directions. Therefore, the stability of the scanner allows the X-Ray tube focal spot to be accurately aligned to the center of the detector which accurately locates the X-Ray beam distribution across the detector to guarantee the image quality.
BPT-48 PET/CT is equipped with a custom made CT Slip Ring manufactured by MOOG USA for the transmission of power, control signals and data. MOOG is a global company that specializes in designing and manufacturing precision slip rings. MOOG is the world’s leader in slip ring manufacturing and offers more than 10,000 slip ring designs that are used in medical equipment ranging from large CT Scanners to smaller camera systems as well as rugged space and aircraft vehicles.
BPT-48 PET/CT uses a highly precision CT gantry rotary bearing that is manufactured by Franke GmbH located in Germany. Franke bearing designs are able to meet the rigorous requirements of military and aerospace applications.
The CT system has multiple temperature sensors that are monitored in real time to ensure that the gantry and detector cooling is working within the specified ranges and to eliminate any possible image artifacts that would be caused by having an unstable operating temperature or temperature drift.
The CT System controls were designed and packaged to be in a single location on the gantry. This optimizes the cooling that is required for the components and provides a platform for meeting all of the shielding requirements for EMC. In addition the system controls packaging design allows for minimum space being needed for maintenance.
BPT-48 PET/CT has the fastest CT scanning speed among all the 16-slice CT systems with a scan speed of 0.5 s/360°. This not only gives you quicker patient throughput but also reduces any motion artifacts that would be due to any respiratory motion.

PET Gantry
The PET gantry in the BPT-48 PET/CT adopts lightweight and low axial thickness design of just 450mm which can reduce the PET/CT axial depth and thus avoid claustrophobic feelings.
High precision location ring meets positioning requirements of modular detectors; meanwhile the PET gantry is equipped with precise adjustment structure with 3 axes and 3 angles, and the PET/CT mechanical registration accuracy can reach 1mm combined with dedicated laser location tools. In addition, the PET gantry is equipped with long-stroke separation devices and only one person can separate the PET/CT rack, which will be greatly convenient for later-stage maintenance.
HV Generator:
The BPT-48 PET/CT High Voltage Generator is manufactured by Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation. Spellman is the world’s leader and producer of high voltage power supplies and X-Ray generators.
Tube:
BPT-48 PET/CT uses an X-Ray tube that is manufactured by DUNLEE, USA. The X-ray tube is a very mature design and widely used which brings stability and long tube life. The tube has an anode heat storage of 5.3 MHU and an anode cooling rate of 815 KHU/min which allows longer scan times and high patient throughput. The tube current range is 10~420 mA. The tube voltage range is 80~140 kV. The tube focal spot sizes are 0.7*1.2 mm for the small and 1.2*1.2 mm for the large.
