Bstar-050 Open Type Superconductive MRI
Bstar-050 superconductive magnetic resonance imaging system is latest launched in year 2016, the system has both superconductive magnetic resonance system’s advantage of fast scanning speed, high image signal-to-noise ratio features, and permanent magnet magnetic resonance system’s advantage of low operating cost, patient comfort. It satisfy all the customer demand for a magnetic resonance system

Configuration:
Magnet sub system
The magnet, as one of the most important parts in MRI systems, determines the magnetic resonance image resolution and system level. Right now in the market, the magnet strength is classified by 2 types:
A, Permanent MRI;
B, Superconductive MRI.
The magnet strength of permanent magnet has the bottleneck at 0.5T level due to the eddy current problem.
BTI-050, magnet strength: 0.5T
The conventional superconducting magnets (most are 1.5T MRI system) are basically using bore design, this kind of design is not friendly for patients, very easy to cause the claustrophobic.
Bstar-150, magnet strength: 1.5T
Bstar-050 uses the landmark 0.5T superconducting magnet, solve all above problems.
In the magnet structure, Bstar-050 uses liquid helium get the superconductive environment, and equipped by multiple Helmholtz superconducting coil charging with current to generate the magnetic field, the magnetic field strength is 0.5T.
The Helmholtz coil is made of a number of same radius coil, the coils are coaxial concatenated placed.
The coil array can generate up to dozens tesla's magnetic field. The main characteristics of this magnet are as followings:
A very large open space;
B very good magnet stability without the interference of magnet temperature.
C very good magnet field homogeneity.
D Liquid helium only 100L, much better than any 1.5T MRI system.
E 42cm magnet gap, even better than permanent MRI system.
F perfectly support the MRI intervention operations.
The magnet system config with two sets of superconducting coil, inside set and outside set. The inside coil is used to generate the magnetic field, the outside coil is used to limit the scope of magnet field, named "magnet curtain technology", with this technology the magnetic field can be limited in the range at minimum range. Two sets of coils are well connected to ensure the reliability and security of the system, together with dynamic shimming technology, the system can perform well at any time.
Bstar-050 using active and passive shimming technology, to ensure that the magnet field has a good uniformity, and the good magnet field uniformity is the cornerstone of good image quality and large FOV clinical application, even if the scanning field reaches 45cm, the system also can obtain good images.
Bstar-050 uses less than 100L liquid helium content, (when regular 1.5T superconductive MRI systems usually uses more than 1500L), even in case of quenching, the customer also do not need to worry about maintenance costs. The system uses 4k cold head imported from Japan, provide “liquid helium zero consumption technology”, the filling cycle of liquid helium is 4 years or longer.
Conventional superconductive MRI uses water-cooled helium compressor, the helium compressor need to continue working to keep the magnet temperature at superconductive environment, its cost on the electricity and water is a very large. Bstar-050 innovatively uses the air-cooled helium compressor, greatly reduce the electricity bills, and zero water consumption, help the user to save money.
Gradient sub system
Gradient sub system directly determine the spatial encoding of MRI system, it produces the signal information, at the same time it can perform GR series sequence scanning, it is the foundation of MRI system’s spatial resolution ability, gradient sub system also directly affect the scanning image thin slice scanning.
The linearity of gradient system of MRI system determine the accuracy of spatial location information, ensuring that in any acquisition, the image distortion is limited.
Gradient switching rate is an important factor of MRI scanning speed. Bstar-050 using the self-shielding gradient coil and high duty cycle gradient amplifier system, together with eddy zero technology and design, not only can avoid the eddy current between the metal shielding layers, but also can concentrate the eddy current from X axis and Y axis to Z axis, then by software algorithm, eliminate all eddy current. This technology can raise up the spatial encoding ability of the magnetic resonance signal and make the scan more precise, ensure high resolution image quality.
When gradient system working its current is high, and switching rate is high as well, thus the noise emitted by MRI system is easy to make the patient discomfort, Bstar-050 using special hardware noise reduction design technology, the original gradient noise is reduced up to 66%, and Bstar-050 provides a friendlier scanning environment for the patients.
The gradient system using air cooling to save maintenance cost for the user.
RF sub system
The RF sub system is the source of MRI proton excitation energy, its efficiency directly affects the MRI relax signal. RF receiver receive MRI relax signal, a good receiving coil can improve the SNR of image.
The RF sub system is similar as highway lane, the more lanes, the faster flow of vehicles. Vice versa, the more the RF system channels, the faster parallel acquisition, thus the system can process the greater the amount of data in the same time, reduce the imaging time. Bstar-050 suing 4 channel radio frequency receiving, combined with the latest parallel sampling technology, using the DDC digital direct sampling, can short the scan time and get excellent image quality.
Rich coil configuration
The Receiver coil, together with parallel acquisition technology, improve the signal-to-noise ratio and image quality. The customer can choose according to the clinical needs (specific configuration of the coil number and types will be subject to final contract).

Interactive systems
Bstar-050 provide comprehensive scan kit and scanning sequence, with rich clinical application of the full body, with a full range of scan plan, assist the customer’s clinical diagnosis. Advanced scanning sequence are provided as well as all routine scan, the system also can take vascular imaging, MRU/MRCP/MRM imaging, DWI imaging and other advanced imaging sequences. Rich post-processing software can optimize images in case necessary to help in complex diseases diagnosis.
E-alarm technology
At the same time, in Bstar-050 configuration there is a special monitoring system, it is simple and easy to operate, it can real-time monitoring the magnet internal pressure, temperature and liquid helium level, if the magnet condition is abnormal, the monitoring system can automatically send alarm information to the user's phone, it can greatly reduce the risk of magnet quenches.
